Majority oppose move

A LARGE majority of people who took part in an Otago Daily Times poll are against the Dunedin City Council’s decision to raise its debt ceiling.

Of the more than 100 who took part, 81% were against the DCC’s move to roughly double its $350 million debt ceiling to fund capital projects and avoid cuts.

The poll was part of a new ODT initiative giving readers the chance to share their views on some of the biggest issues facing the South.

The results of the poll are not scientific.
