Twoday workshop covering predator trapping to be held in resort
A twoday immersive predator trapping workshop will be held in Queenstown late this month to help residents upskill.
The course, to be held on November 26 and 27, is being delivered by the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) and the Department of Conservation (Doc) with a primary focus on developing effective predator control plans for areas.
Doc biodiversity senior ranger Lisa Thurlow said she hoped to dispel rumours trapping was ‘‘all guts and gore’’ by teaching everything from trapsetting basics to establishing and managing individual trap lines.
Registrations are via NMIT’s website, or by contacting Doc in Queenstown.
