Driver critically injured

ONE person is critically injured in Dunedin Hospital following a crash near Invercargill yesterday morning.

A police spokeswoman said the singlevehicle crash occurred on the Southern Scenic Route, near Kapuka, about 6.15am.

The driver, the sole occupant of the car, was transported by helicopter to Dunedin Hospital with critical injuries.

The road was closed for much of the day while the Serious Crash Unit investigated.
