IF you are tall, stand close to someone and shout, your body language is threatenin­g. If tall people need to raise a point with someone, they need not to invade personal space.

Councillor­s are trying to protect their staff from feeling threatened and as responsibl­e employers they have a legal duty to do so.

To fail in this duty could lead to a complaint to Worksafe and a heavy fine if the complaint is justified.

If such a payment became necessary, would ratepayers feel that they were getting value for their money?
