I WISH to object to the opinion of James Williamson (Trending Topics, 11.11.20).

We live in Riversdale, Northern Southland, and are totally dependent on St John services for health and accident emergencies.

Twice my husband’s life was threatened and these qualified, selfless folk were in attendance very promptly.

This wonderful service in

Riversdale is in danger through lack of local volunteers. We will miss them, perhaps with serious consequences.

Well done to James Williamson if he lives in a city where a hospital ambulance can reach him speedily, but please have compassion for those who live further afield.
