Nth Otago loses warmup

Cricket: South Canterbury beat North Otago by 20 runs in a Hawke Cup warmup match in Oamaru on Sunday.

South Canterbury batted first and scored 158 for nine in its 50 overs. Blake James grabbed three wickets, while Jeremy Smith took a wicket and conceded just 14 runs off nine overs.

North Otago lost three wickets at 19 in its chase. Reg George scored 48, but its run chase ended at 138 when the match was completed.
