Impey standing down
Rugby: New Zealand Rugby chairman Brent Impey will step down as chairman of Sanzaar at the end of the year, citing the need for ‘‘fundamental change’’ at the governing body.
Impey has held the Sanzaar role for five years but made it clear the association needed independent leadership to improve an ‘‘outdated’’ structure.
The post of Sanzaar chairman had previously rotated among the heads of the three (now four) unions in the alliance but Impey said that had led to a conflict of interest with the future of the game in such a state of flux. — Reuters
