Policies feedback sought

Southland: Feedback is being sought on four key Southland District Council policies under review.

The draft revenue and financing policy could change the way activities are rated for in the district, and affect individual property rates.

The policy would not affect overall rates collected, but proposes to better match who pays for services and amenities based on who benefits from or has access to them.

The council is also seeking feedback on its draft procurement policy, which outlines its approach to obtaining goods, services and works; the draft policy on development and financial contributions; and the draft significance and engagement policy.

People can have their say online at makeitstick.nz or by visiting any Southland District Council office or library.

Consultation is open until December 4.
