Second boat safety meeting being held
A SECOND boat safety meeting will be held at the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club next week.
Saddle Hill Community Board chairman Scott Weatherall said after ‘‘overwhelming’’ interest in the first meeting, which discussed crossing the Taieri Mouth bar safely, another would be held on Monday, at 7pm.
About 100 people attended the first educational public safety meeting and heard from guest speakers, including recreational fisherman and diver Ray Beattie, who had a lucky escape after capsizing at the bar, as well as Otago harbourmasters.
