Bad language a problem
The question has occasionally been raised that returned soldiers are showing less interest than is desirable in the welfare of the Soldier’s Club. After the meeting of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association last night our representative — himself a returned man — spent a short time in the club over the way, and he states that the language, particularly in the case of one individual, was more forcible than polite, and distinctly to be deprecated. Such a state of affairs should not be tolerated if the club is
to prosper. The strong hand of restraint should be laid upon every member so offending, and we commend the matter to the responsible authorities without further comment.
