Car hits pole

Weston: A motorist received minor injuries after a crashing into a power pole in Weston on Thursday.

An Oamaru police spokeswoman said a 33yearold woman became annoyed with a car travelling slowly in front of her in Weston Rd, and attempted to pass it at the Saleyard Rd intersection.

The car hit loose gravel, collided with the car it was passing, and went into a power pole outside North Otago Truck Repairs.

As a result, powerlines were down over several trucks and a petrol tanker, parked in the truck repair yard.

The car and power pole were both written off.
