Tridents score first points

THE Northern Tridents secured their first points of the Premier Hockey League with a comefrombehind 22 draw with the Southern Alpiners yesterday.
They went on to win the shootout 43.
Both teams entered the contest in search of their first win.
The Alpiners were smarting after two lastminute goals cost them points during the previous two days.
The Alpiners constructed several scoring opportunities early and had the Tridents on the back foot.
The Alpiners scored in the sixth minute when Sam Lane drilled a dragflick into the net.
Lane had a second when bounced the ball over the Tridents goalkeeper in the second quarter.
Sam Huston replied for the Tridents, who came out strong in the second half and levelled with six minutes remaining, before sealing a 43 win in the shootout.
The Central Falcons capped off a good weekend with a comprehensive 62 win over the Hauraki Mavericks.
