Te reo Maori

THE Government wants all education providers to use te reo every day. Mr Hipkins said using te reo meaningfully might mean teaching the names of colours and numbers.

I’ve got news for him and the Government. I’m approaching 60 and we did exactly that when I was in what we called ‘‘the primmers’’ at 6, 7 and 8 years old and it included songs, poi dances, haka and games. Bernard Jennings
