Boat race bettors pulled up

-

Great things start from small beginnings and this is exemplified by the fact that at Taradale recently some small boys, having started races with sticks for boats on the everflowing water channel of the main roads the idea was conceived by older heads of having boat races. Some miniature boats were constructed of various designs, and a small crowd, apparently of men of leisure and means, would eagerly follow up the drift of the tiny crafts downstream, and await with great interest the arrival of the first carved sticks to reach the goal. Unfortunately for the prospect of making Taradale drains popular boat racing centres the upholders of law and order interfered, and the enthusiasts are hoping that the new Gaming Bill will provide for this new excitement.
