Bumper fleet for race

Yachting: A bumper fleet of 89 boats will contest the 76th annual Sydney to Hobart race, once again getting away on Boxing Day.

Covid19 restrictions have barely diminished interest in the race, although super maxis Wild Oats XI , a record ninetime line honours winner, and threetime winner Comanche will be missing.

In addition to the traditional race for line and handicap honours, a twohanded division has been introduced this year before its inclusion on the 2024 Paris Olympic Games programme. — AAP
