Turn your clocks forward

- DAYLIGHT SAVINGS

There’s no doubt summer is just around the corner as a reminder goes out not to forget to put your clocks forward one hour this weekend.

When local standard time is about to reach 2am on Sunday, September 25, clocks need to be turned forward one hour to 3am on Sunday September 25, local daylight time instead.

Sunrise and sunset will be about one hour later on September 25 than the day before.

There will be more light in the evening and it’s also a good time to check if the batteries in your smoke alarms need to be replaced.

The Department of Internal Affairs is available to listen to any enquiries about daylight savings and can be contacted via email daylightsaving@dia.govt.nz
