The programme runs for three to four terms or approximately 30-40 weeks.

Groups meet every week during the school term. Sessions are run by Space trained facilitators. The programme has two focus areas, the first being: The Heart of Parenting & The Growing Child. The second focus is on Exploring Play and concentrates on providing play experiences for the infants alongside their parents.

There is a range of discussion topics covered and may vary depending on particular group interests or needs.

Thoughts and sharing moments, rhymes and making resources are just some topics covered.

Occasionally guest speakers are invited to deliver specialised topics.

Families enrol at one centre that is running Space and commit to attending that programme regularly.

Babies joining a new Space session are generally between three weeks and four months of age and parents stay on session with their babies.

The joining fee is $120 or for Community Service Card holders the joining fee is $60.

For those facing financial hardship the joining fee can be paid in instalments over the 40 weeks of the programme.
