FROM THE NEWS DESK
This week reporter Katrina Tanirau brings readers the first in a series of stories marking the 40th birthday of the Piako Post. The first edition of the Post was not published until December 1977 but we wanted to bring you some stories from the past leading up to that anniversary date to celebrate the milestone. So we’ll be presenting a few stories which made headlines in the two publications which combined to form the Post two decades ago. The first is on page 5 this week, from the Morrinsville Star. We’re looking to speak to past staff from the Star and the Post over the coming weeks to talk about what it was like to work on a newspaper all those years ago. So if you were involved in some way, whether it be a reporter, sales person, admin, advertiser, delivery or production staff, please let us know so we can include you in our 40th birthday project. We look forward to hearing from you.
