The Morrinsville Fire Brigade was called to the blaze which was aided by a slight breeze.
About 100 bales of hay and an older tractor were completely destroyed in the fire, while a later model tractor suffered extensive damage.
Besides this incident, Morrinsville Volunteer Fire Brigade chief fire officer Mr T.L Barlow said it was an unusually quiet time of the year for the brigade.
