- COMPETITION

Performing Hamilton’s Altitude (R.18) Thursday January 19 (tomorrow!) w/ Delete Delete

Things just keep getting better as far as The Mockers are concerned. Not only are they doing a reunion tour after 30 years and kicking it off in Hamilton but they’ve just released a Greatest Hits collection and we’re giving you a chance to win a copy as the ideal memoryjogger of their much anticipated Hamilton gig tomorrow night.

Woke Up Today – The Definitive Collection contains 19 ripper tracks that will have you remembering time well spent witnessing their triumphant comeback at Hamilton’s iconic Altitude nightclub.

Among the hits and fan favourites are such great tracks as Forever Tuesday Morning, Swear It’s True, One Black Friday, My Girl Thinks She’s Cleopatra, Shield Yourself, Alvison Park and many more.

Joining forces for the Mockers reunion are NZ-based Andrew Fagan (vocals), Brett Adams (guitar), plus Geoff Hayden (bass) - travelling from London, and keyboard maestro - Australianbased Tim Wedde.

Special guest for the show is Delete Delete – featuring members of stellar* and Elemeno P.

Three Top 10 albums and six hit singles, ensured they played to huge crowds across the country throughout the 1980s.

The reunion will also serve as tribute to Mockers drummer and friend Steve Thorpe, who passed away in 1986. Special guest drummer is huge Mockers fan, Chris O’Connor from the Phoenix Foundation.

‘‘This reunion tour is a great chance for the band to reconnect from all corners of the globe after so long apart, and share the Mockers songs with the very supportive fanbase throughout New Zealand,’’ Fagan said.

‘‘We always had a great time in Hamilton playing at memorable places like the Hillcrest or Founders Theatre - so it’s great to be kicking off the tour there.’’

Tickets for the Hamilton concert are available from Ticketek, the i-Site at Garden Place, Take Note at Dinsdale or the venue on the night
