Kerrin gets financial boost
As a year nine student at Morrinsville College, Kerrin Karl couldn’t wait to finish school so he could get along to Anderson Street Panel and Paint to do work experience.
Watching a vehicle go from being beat up with faded paint and rust, to shiny and new was a transformation Kerrin loved watching take place.
Under the watchful eye of John and Jesse Werder, Kerrin became an apprentice at Anderson Street Panel and Paint and has shown he has plenty of panel beating poten- tial.
He was awarded the Motor Industry Training Organisation Kick Start scholarship and presented with a certificate by MITO CEO Janet Lane and Ardi Tawha who is Kerrin’s Industry Training Advisor.
This means a year of his apprenticeship has been paid for.
Kerrin is now 12 months into his panel beating apprenticeship and is loving every minute of it.
‘‘Having one year of my apprenticeship paid for is great. It saves me some money so I’m really grateful for that.’’
Ultimately Kerrin wants to get his own ‘‘little’’ shop, but will continue working with Anderson Panel and Paint until the opportunity arises.
‘‘I want to say a big thank you to John and Jesse Werder and all the other panel beaters who have taught me the tools of the trade,’’ he said.
