Big at-home wins secured over Ohaupo

Nottingham Castle Hotel Morrinsvil­le Sports senior rugby teams played Ohaupo at home, at Campbell Park on Saturday, in the Division 1, Waikato club rugby competitio­n. length of the field to dot down in the cemetery end of the field.

The final points of the day resulted from a lineout win and through the backline to Sekove who scored behind the post and Steffert converted.

The final score, Morrinsvil­le 57 – Ohaupo 5.

It started with a try by Dwayne Sweeney which was unconverte­d.

Then the game became a battle of conditions. Ohaupo kicked a penalty and a good try to have them leading 8-5.

Fifteen minutes into the game with Morrinsvil­le hot on attack, Steve Alauola scored at the back from a pushover scrum.

Sweeney converted to put Morrinsvil­le in the lead. He then kicked a penalty for a half time score of 15-8.

The second half started but it took 18 minutes before Morrinsvil­le scored through the hands of captain Josh Janmaat, to his young locking partner, Cam Jackson, for a crashing try.

From the kick off, winger Jayson Chambers burst over for a great try.

Second-five converted.

Cam Jackson scored his second Chan Singh try of the day and this was also converted by Chan Singh.

The final try of the day came from Adrian Minimita, playing replacemen­t flanker, converted by Singh.

Final score was Morrinsvil­le 44, Ohaupo 8.

This weekend the seniors have bye.

So it is an opportunit­y for supporters to watch the Colts and U85s play at home.
