Help needed
The Matamata/Piako CIB are investigating a serious assault that occurred at the intersection of Bank and North streets in Morrinsville last week and would appreciate any information from members of the community.
At about 8pm on Wednesday June 7, a teenager received a stab wound to the leg.
He was then chased by two offenders to an address on Lincoln Street where he sought refuge. The offenders ran away.
Police confirmed a person, responding to noise outside the Lincoln St home, discovered a man with a stab wound below the knee.
Two men were seen leaving the scene and unfortunately a police dog unit was unable to locate them.
‘‘We have spoken to the victim, and are following up on a report that two males were seen leaving the area,’’ a police spokesperson said.
The offenders have been described as one male Maori and the other a male Caucasian - both in their late teens.
