The Imperial Russian Ballet returns

- MUSIC COMPETITION

A Festival Of Russian Ballet – Double Pass. Performing at Hamilton’s Clarence Street Theatre Wednesday 27 September at 8pm.

It’s no secret that the Russians do ballet best and we believe that The Imperial Russian Ballet Company does it best of the Russians.

Following their sell-out performances of Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, The Imperial Russian Ballet Company is returning to Hamilton.

Formed in 1994 by the Bolshoi Theatre soloist, Gediminas Taranda, The Imperial Russian Ballet Company with a cast of 40 elite dancers and support staff are dedicated to delivering to you the grandest production imaginable.

It gives us great pleasure therefore to offer up a double pass to their forthcoming show.

Performed at the iconic Clarence St Theatre in Hamilton - the only operational proscenium arch theatre in Hamilton - it is a comprehensive programme that features some of ballet’s most stunning works.

Presented in three aweinspiring acts, here’s what’s in store for you: ACT 1 - Don Quixote. Don Quixote, a retired gentleman travels the roads of Spain searching for glory and grand adventure. ACT 2 - Bolero. Bolero is a striking and dramatic ballet and is regarded as one of world music’s masterpieces.

ACT 3 - Highlights from the world’s great ballets.

Including Giselle, Carmen, The Dying Swan and Le Corsaire, Gopak and Can Can Surprise.

This spellbinding and diverse programme with its enthralling eclectic mix will have you on the edge of your seats in the up close and personal setting of the Clarence Street Theatre where nothing will escape the eye.

The Imperial Russian Ballet Company have performed this three-hour ballet extravaganza all around the world, thrilling audiences and impressing critics.

‘‘Bold, Brave Russians. In a night that overflows with all things ballet, you can’t help be swept up by the sheer panache of the Imperial Russian Ballet Company dancers,’’ one critic said.
