On stage as guest artist

- MAGGIE FORBES

Anna Tukuitoga is 13 years old, and currently attends St Joseph’s Primary School in Paeroa.

Her singing journey started as a four-year-old in the garage of her daycare Nanny’s home.

Nanny Libby overheard her singing Bimbo, and took her under her wing and she became part of the group The Girls.

From there, she signed up as a member of the Fountain City Country Music Club, and eight years later, she is one of the youngest members of the Club.

Fellow members Bruce and Libby have continued to coach her.

In 2016, Anna wrote a song titled ‘‘ Justice for West Papua‘‘ and she entered in the Caritas sing out for justice competition for Catholic Schools, and won the Juniors.

She has also competed in various country music awards throughout the North Island.

In February of this year, she won Junior Overall at Aotearoa Country Music Awards held in Palmerston North, which gave her entry into the Entertainer of the Year Awards, in Rotorua in October.

In the most recent school holidays, Anna travelled to Whanganui for the Muddy River Country Music Awards, and entered the Intermediates for the first time.

Anna is pleased to be guest artist at Te Aroha Country Music Club on Sunday August 27, and is looking forward to seeing everyone there.
