Tracey in the spot­light

Tracey Bowa­ter is the Septem­ber Spot­light artist at Mor­rinsville Coun­try Mu­sic Club’s club night this Fri­day Septem­ber 8.

She is 26 years old and joined the Mor­rinsville Coun­try Mu­sic Club as a young teenager.

It was al­ways her in­ten­tion of de­vel­op­ing her mu­si­cal tal­ent by play­ing the coun­try mu­sic her par­ents en­joy lis­ten­ing to.

She is a reg­u­lar per­former at Back Porch Blue­grass in Hamil­ton, where she joins with other mu­si­cians to present her songs.

Tracey’s ap­pre­ci­a­tion of blue­grass mu­sic has been height­ened through the en­thu­si­asm of her mu­sic tu­tor, Paul Tren­with.

Se­lect­ing songs from a broad spec­trum of coun­try mu­sic, in­clud­ing con­tem­po­rary, tra­di­tional, blue­grass and al­terna- tive coun­try, Tracey has be­come a com­pe­tent rhythm guitarist and singer, and of­ten takes on the role as band leader for the Mor­rinsville Coun­try Mu­sic Club.

Her present tastes in coun­try mu­sic in­clude: The Band Perry, Mi­randa Lam­bert, Mad­die & Tae, and Keith Ur­ban.

How­ever, coun­try mu­sic only oc­cu­pies part of her busy life.

Tracey is a su­per­vi­sor at KPMG, an ac­count­ing firm, in Hamil­ton, as well as com­plet­ing her Char­tered Ac­coun­tant ex­ams through Char­tered Ac­coun­tants Aus­tralia and New Zealand.

She also en­joys snow­board­ing, fish­ing and go­ing to the gym.
