Tracey in the spotlight
Tracey Bowater is the September Spotlight artist at Morrinsville Country Music Club’s club night this Friday September 8.
She is 26 years old and joined the Morrinsville Country Music Club as a young teenager.
It was always her intention of developing her musical talent by playing the country music her parents enjoy listening to.
She is a regular performer at Back Porch Bluegrass in Hamilton, where she joins with other musicians to present her songs.
Tracey’s appreciation of bluegrass music has been heightened through the enthusiasm of her music tutor, Paul Trenwith.
Selecting songs from a broad spectrum of country music, including contemporary, traditional, bluegrass and alterna- tive country, Tracey has become a competent rhythm guitarist and singer, and often takes on the role as band leader for the Morrinsville Country Music Club.
Her present tastes in country music include: The Band Perry, Miranda Lambert, Maddie & Tae, and Keith Urban.
However, country music only occupies part of her busy life.
Tracey is a supervisor at KPMG, an accounting firm, in Hamilton, as well as completing her Chartered Accountant exams through Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
She also enjoys snowboarding, fishing and going to the gym.
