SCHOOL REDEVELOPMENT
Warkworth Primary has been given more than $13 million to invest in a major redevelopment of the school. ‘‘Ten existing classrooms on the senior campus for years four to six will be demolished and replaced with 14 new classrooms, along with renewed administration, library and resource spaces,’’ Associate Education Minister Nikki Kaye announced on March 9. ‘‘The redevelopments mean the school will offer fantastic facilities which set it up for the future.’’ Rodney MP Mark Mitchell expressed his excitement about the upcoming project, saying it is something he has been involved with since he was elected. ‘‘This final stage in the rebuild will allow the children and staff access to a modern, purpose-built environment which will facilitate the teaching and learning of the next generation.’’ The announcement comes after the junior campus underwent a $7.6 million redevelopment last year.
