Estuary Arts school holiday fun
The Estuary Arts Centre in Orewa has some creative programmes planned for the April school holidays.
On offer is a variety of school holiday art experiences, with half and full day options available.
A three day clay sculpture class ‘Clay Creations with Sue Ehrlich’ takes place on April 18, 20 and concludes on April 28. Each session is from 10am – 3pm for ages eight to 13.
The first week is fun-filled. On April 18 its Dream Catchers with Brooke McMahon from 10am to
3pm for ages five to 13; Drawing and Acrylic painting with Eion Bryant is on April 20 from 10am to 3pm for seven to 12 year olds; and On April 21 it’s Coaster Painting with Brooke McMahon for seven to 10 years, from 10am to 12noon.
Week two includes two sessions on April 24. ‘Tiny Town with Sue Law’ (eight year plus) from 10am to 3pm and Van Gogh portraits with Brooke McMahon from 10am to 1pm (seven to 13). X Marks the Spot is on April 27 from 10am – 3pm (eight years plus), and to finish off on
April 28 is ‘Silk Painting with Kerry Cline’ from 11am to 2pm for all ages.
Children’s after school workshops have been popular and continue next term. On Monday starting from May 8 there is ‘Smarty Pants with Dani Courtney’ for five to 10 years, and ‘Mixed Media Fun with Sue Ehrlich’ for 10 to 14 years. Both take place from 4pm to 5.30pm. On Tuesday it’s ‘Creative Painting and Drawing with Michael Irwin’ for seven to 13 years. Then on Thursdays ‘Fabric Fascination with Susannah Law’ and ‘Clay Kids with Susan Ehrich’. Both are suitable for seven to 13 years from 4pm to 5.30pm.
Estuary Arts is an integral part of the local community and a wonderful place for people to meet. It’s also right next to the Orewa’s picturesque Te Ara Tahuna Walkway.
