Life is busy for estate agent mum
Anita and her family live in the Earth House in Matakatia.
In 2015 Anita and her partner, Warren, bought an earth house in Matakatia. Renovations are underway - a family affair with all hands on deck. With both parents in real estate, it was only natural for Anita to follow suit and become a licensed salesperson. Anita achieved the Top Individual Sales Growth Award two years running. people moving here aren’t willing to go much further than Stanmore Bay. Once a solution is sorted, that would make a big difference.
‘‘Shakespear Park is beautiful and right on our doorstep.’’
My favourite places to have coffee are Cafe Manly and The Cove - for me, it’s about the service and the friendly faces behind the counter that makes my coffee taste so much better.
It’s not often I have a free few hours but if I do, I love heading out for a run. There are so many different routes to take on the Coast and they all have a view. Plus, it is a brilliant way to clear my head (although I normally check out the houses I’m running past!). If the weather is good, we also love to head out on the boat for a few hours with the kids and our Staffy.
It’s the excitement of helping someone to take their next step, whether it’s buying a new house, selling because of a move to a new area or upsizing or downsizing. Sometimes it can be quite sad if someone is selling for reasons beyond their control, so I want to make sure that they are getting the best service, the best price and making things easy for them. Communication plays a huge part; being able to connect with people. When I went into Real Estate Management for a period, I really missed being able to connect with my clients so I went back into sales. when I first started in selling. I was selling a property for a family who wanted to move into the Westlake zone so their daughter could go to school. The property sold at auction which was fantastic however, I had to take the auction agreement back to their place to meet with the wife to get her initials on the contract. She was in tears when I got there, and when I arrived back to the office to meet the auctioneer and my father (also in real estate), I burst into tears too. I think empathy is a huge part of what makes a real estate agent successful.
