Greats combine for tour

- STAFF REPORTER

Some of New Zealand’s great voices will sing together on a reformatted Winery Tour. The Winery Tour has become something of a Kiwi summer institution; it’s now in its 11th year.

This year promoters Brent Eccles and Campbell Smith have shaken up the tour’s format. ‘‘We are so thrilled to be able to present such an impressive array of Kiwi talent in one show,’’ Eccles said.

The shows will retain their traditional three-set structure. Country songstress Tami Neilson and her Hot Rockin’ Band of Rhythm will open the show, followed by Annie Crummer, Che Fu, Jason Kerrison (Opshop), Betty-Anne Monga (Ardijah) and Hollie Smith, who will share a band while performing their own greatest hits.

For the final act, the singers will join together to perform the headline set: Songbook: Together in Concert.

The Winery Tour 2018 will take in 10 locations around New Zealand from January 19 to February 10. Tickets are available from the Winery Tour website. On January 27, the tour will visit the Ascension Wine Estate in Matakana. Tickets will be available to buy from next week, but the Rodney Times has a double pass to give away to one lucky reader. Simply visit the Rodney Times Neighbourly page - https:/ /www.neighbourly.co.nz/publication/rodney-times - and ‘like’ or ‘thank’ the relevant competition post. A winner will be chosen at random and notified via the Neighbourly page on October 16 at 10am.

‘‘We were determined to shake our favourite tour up a bit.’’
