LOOK WHO’S TALKING

I love that the beach is always just a walk away. There aren’t many places in the world that you can say this!

I have lived here for my whole life (21 years) with a few short term stints in between. Tindalls Beach is my stomping ground, though having lived in Red Beach for the past year, it’s slowly becoming my new home bay.

The hills are a pain as I like to bike and reduce carbon emissions. Instead of fixing this, I think I’ll just have to get over myself.

I’m always partial to a curry at Bolliwood, but if I’m looking for somewhere a bit more classy, I’d pop into Casablanca.

‘‘I don't like wearing shoes, and I always have salt in my hair.’’

I’ve never been a coffee drinker, but Two Spoons are my cafe of choice for a delish chai-latte.

Lorde - Ella Yelich-O’Connor. It may sound like the cliche answer from my age demographic, but not only is her music outrageously clever, she’s stayed relatively downto-earth, and is always herself.

Immediately build a community garden, erect several community pianos, and stop any more housing developments.

I’m a bit biased about Shakespear Park: I got engaged and married there. Tourists can’t come to Rodney without visiting!

Coast Sitters is the Hibiscus Coast’s number one stop for all childcare needs. Literally anything. From one hour drop-offs in the morning, to two weeks’ live-in care, we can do it. I’ve been a ‘sitter’ since I was 14. I’ve spent many nights on various couches, early mornings with Pepper Pig, and I’m excellent at singing lullabies. I love my job but I can’t ever be in two places at once… so I’ve created Coast Sitters.

A couple booked with us, it was the first time they had ever had someone else look after their oneyear-old. Their nervousness was definitely apparent, but I reemphasised the quality of our sitters, and walked them through the process carefully. After the sitter left, they sent me a message with a huge thank you. Their lives were suddenly opened up to a whole new lifestyle of being able to spend time with each other and see friends.
