An­nual is­land con­cert to be a brassy af­fair

With and it’s rare na­tive wildlife and stag­ger­ing views of the Hau­raki Gulf, Tir­i­tiri Matangi is a stun­ning mu­sic venue. The an­nual is­land con­cert is planned for March 3 and will fea­ture a group of young mu­si­cians from the Auck­land Phil­har­mo­nia Orches­tra Young Achiev­ers. They will be putting their puff to good use in a brass quin­tet, and play­ing a mix of light clas­si­cal and jazz.

The In­spire Part­ner­ship Pro­gramme is a col­lab­o­ra­tion be­tween Auck­land Phil­har­mo­nia Orches­tra (APO) and the Univer­sity of Auck­land’s School of Mu­sic, and helps young mu­si­cians aged be­tween 16-25 on their mu­si­cal path­way, in­clud­ing en­cour­ag­ing them to per­form live.

Bring a pic­nic - no food sold on the Is­land, catch the 9am, or 1pm con­cert ferry from Auck­land via Gulf Har­bour at 1:50pm ar­riv­ing Tir­i­tiri at 2:20pm.
