THIS SPRING certainly has all the hallmarks of a trampoline!! The weather is up anddown like a spring. Every year at this timewe see the leaves appearing on the maples, blossoms on the fruit trees and amultitude of fabulous newplants coming into the garden centre. It is also the timewhenwesee someplants thatweonly get at this time of the year like our exclusive Magnolia Sentry. This is a deciduous tree that will suit those of you with a small garden. It has spectacular tulip shaped spicy scented pink-burgundy blooms all up the narrow columnar-shaped tree in spring. Unlike someof the older variety magnolias, it flowers from a young age and holds the blooms close to its chest. For a narrow garden space it will be perfect. Plant one in a pot and place it in the corner of the patio or on the deck when it is flowering and marvel at the pretty blooms.

Also available noware the easy care pelargoniums and geraniums. These are great for those of youwho want to have a splash of colour for your hot spots on the patio or garden. Great in pots, they will give you endless enjoyment. Howabout planting up some window boxes? Sincewecannot travel this year give your place a touch of Europe with stunning pots, planters and window boxes. Think grey green foliage, trailing lobelias and bright geraniums.

If you wantsome blue tones in the garden have a look at all thenew lavenders in now. Wehave plenty of Lavendermajors. They are a picture at this time of year. Also, the English type lavenders with their compact habit, fragrant grey green foliage and flowers all through spring and summerare absolute winners. The bees love these too so ideal if you want to improve the fruit set in your fruit trees. Just plant a fewbeneath your trees and through the garden or as a colourful hedge or pot plant.

Indoorswehave an impressive range of newand rare houseplants. It’s a bit like Christmas hascome early! See the Ficus Benghalensis Variegata. This is the variegated form of the tropical banyan tree. Also Ficus Tineke and Ficus Ruby. Both newcomers are easy care and very popular for their colourful foliage.

So, fill yourhomewith indoor plants and leap into the garden this spring with a fewnewbies to give it a newlease of life and a ping along.
