Shoplifting is theft

With reference to the Daily Post Weekend’s article on shoplifting, in my view a vegan outlet is possibly the least attractive target for this type of theft.

But bottle shops on the other hand must be among the prime targets.

It’s a case of right versus wrong and if parents have been unable or unwilling to reinforce this basic human instinct and set their offspring off on the right track, shaming is one of the few options left to point out the correct pathway.

I agree that a rogues gallery might be better in the staffrooms rather than next to the public noticeboard but handling shoplifters with kid gloves does not send the right message.

Shoplifting is theft, pure and simple.

It seems that today’s populace is swayed, even motivated, more by appearances than substance, a predictable situation when one sees the ease and speed at which information travels today.

When I consider the legacy Donald Trump is to leave, as published in our generally left-leaning media, I’m somewhat surprised he hasn’t already been dragged from office and publicly lynched. Perhaps I need to set the record straight as I believe that he leaves office in a few days in a thick acrid cloud of accusations that mask so many of his positive achievements.

Yes, he’s loud, boastful, often insulting, has a playboy image, past tense, not a peep of this though his four-year tenure but maybe we’d look a long time to find one to measure up to our lofty hypocritical standards.

We forget the three Middle East peace treaties he has brokered, the fact that there are no new wars with US involvement and that throughout his four years, US troops have been

coming home.

Commercial enterprises enjoy a 21 per cent tax ceiling today, formerly as high as 35 per cent thus stimulating a flagging domestic economy, 7 million less reliant on food stamps, unemployment (prior to covid) at 3 per cent, lowest in 50 years.

The most “Pro-life” president ever has moderated the US Supreme Court, better balancing the right and left philosophies so prevalent.

He went in, focused on America First policies and he’s not once deviated.

Not a politician, but a man of his word.
