KINETIC ART: Starting from the work of Len Lye, the GovettBrew­ster Art Gallery presents a new exhibition Set in Motion, with artwork by four new generation artists working in the field of kinetic sculpture and experiment­al projection. Colours, sounds and movement overlap in the Len Lye Centre exhibition open until November 27.

CAFE´ BUSINESS: The new heartwrenc­hing New Zealand documentar­y by former New Plymouth director Lisa Burd follows an Auckland couple launching their cafe´ Monterey with three young Samoan boys. LEN LYE: A free documentar­y about Len Lye, the filmmaker and kinetic sculptor screens free every day at 1pm and 3pm in the Len Lye Centre Cinema. Flip and Two Twisters by New Zealand filmmaker Shirley Horrocks explores Lye’s career and ideas with the help of historical footage and excerpts from his films.
