The Hawera Badminton Club’s C grade team has been named this year’s winner in the Taranaki C Grade competitio­n. This is the first time in 27 years that the team has won the title. The Red Cross officials for 1991 were: Patron N Johnson; President Mrs E Flannery; Secretary/ Treasurer Miss D Clapham; Committee Mrs P Taylor, Mrs J Williams and Mrs M Fleming.

Two new salesperso­ns started at South Taranaki Toyota – Terry Cooper and Tony Coombes.

Bob Gibson and his trusty Corolla 1300cc van featured in the Star. The Corolla had done more than 700,000km. Bob travels 225km each day delivering mail six days a week and during that time he stops and starts his wagon more than 400 times.
