Stratford: A medal round was played on Saturday, October 15. Best net was H. Morton with 69 followed by C. Downs, D. Banham and N. Aldridge on net 70. A $10 meat tournament will be played on Saturday 22 and is open to men and ladies. Report to starter at 10.30 for an 11am start. Team Hope is running an ambrose tournament on Friday November 11. Team Hope is a dedicated group set up to provide support to people living in the Stratford area who are suffering from some sort of adversity. The golf side of the day is a three-person ambrose. Hawera: Last year’s senior champions both retained their titles at Fairfield. Tim White finished 7/6 over Mark Ropiha. Tineka Kumeroa beat Esther White in the women’s championsh­ip 6/5. Marc Walker went to the 35th hole to win the Intermedia­te title with a 2/1 defeat of Brent Cudby. Wendy Cameron came back from being 4 down early in her match with Lynne Frank to win on the 36th hole. Geoff Ragg beat Don Cameron 3/2 to win the men’s Junior title while Raewyn Gemmell beat Fay Norgate 6/5 in the Junior women’s championsh­ip. Neil Yeoman won the Limit division 3/2 over Darryn Sunnex. Sunday’s haggle was won by A. Lloyd with 35 points from S.Craven and D.Cameron both on 34. The greens have been cored this week so there is no competitio­n other than the normal midday haggles this weekend ( Labour weekend). The next competitio­n is Saturday, October 29, mixed day

In the semifinals of the 9 Hole Top Dog June O’Neill and Louise Abbott beat Adrienne Cudby and Manu Knapp and Elwyn Robins and Eleanor Preston won against Michelle Karalus and Jane Johnson on the second extra hole.
