IRON ORE MINING

-

GENEROUS HAWERA

Through the pages of the South Taranaki Star we would like to thank the wonderful people of Hawera who helped financially to send our daughter Lisa to Russia for an operation to halt the progression of Multiple Sclerosis.

Special thanks to Sylvia, Elsie and Nadine of Ballentynes, the wonderful model and all those who attended the fashion show ably compared by Jill Hooper.

Thanks also to @ Your Office & Lotto for printing the entry tickets free of charge and to those that helped with supper.

Thanks also to the Mount View Lions and Taranaki Greyhound Racing Club for your donations and also those who donated through Give a Little and directly to the family.

Special thanks also to Lisa’s workmates from Work and Income who organised a hilarious quiz night, made even more enjoyable by quizmasters Gordon Brown and Phil Waite.

Thanks also to those who donated supper, prizes and things to raffle. We would also like to acknowledge Lisa’s husband Jack’s employer Yarrow’s The Bakers for their wonderful support at a very stressful time.

We would like to thank those of you who have visited or approached us in the street with support both financially and emotionally. Some of you were strangers at the time.

Special thanks to Dr Federenko and his assistant Anastasia Panchenko who we believe have helped Lisa back to a better life.

Within three weeks of contacting Dr Federenko he had organised a date for the operation.

Our health system could learn a lot from Russia.

Kevin and Yvonne Hanover Hawera There are always two sides to every story.

When it comes to iron ore sea mining, on one side TransTasman Resources Ltd and on the other side South Taranaki iwi and hapu and their environmental supporters.

I assure you, I am on the fence as I find it very difficult to put the facts for and against in black and white. This is just like politics, one party puts and idea up and other parties go around to shoot them down.

Let’s see some iron ore sand mining facts for and against please. Not much different than my guiding business shut down except I am out of business so far.

Question: who are the winners with mining this iron ore?
