- By HEATHER GABY

Hash House Harriers in Tokoroa meet tonight at 6pm in the Trees Tavern carpark on the corner of Balmoral Drive and State Highway 1 for a run and walk. The group is out for about an hour meeting back at the Trees for some quick refreshments and socialising. Next Wednesday, February 1, the group meets at Ra’s Sports Bar on Rosebery St at 6pm. Everyone is welcome to join the group for fun active leisure. Sticking to Goals Whether you dream of competing at the next Olympic Games or merely aim to get off the couch most days for a walk around the block, setting a goal and sticking to your plan to achieve it is vital if any progress is to be gained.

You may have resolved to be more active this year but unfortunately most well-intended New Year’s resolutions will have already been filed in the too-hard basket. If you’re one of the few who are working hard to stick to your resolution of being more active in 2012 take a pat on the back. This will prepare your body for the rigours of your sport and is vital to minimise the risk of injury. Physical fitness should be gained in the off and pre-season and maintained during the season. Super Sports Just a few weeks until this year’s South Waikato Super Sports on February 24, 25 and 26.

Training should be starting to peak for those dedicated sportspeople and for those who are thinking of making a last minute entry, some serious cramming might be required. If you’ve yet to get your entry in visit the website www.sports ground.co.nz/supersports to download your form.
