Family fun scheduled for weekend

The last of Our Neighbourh­ood Friday parties at the Rock Park, Glenkill Park, will be held this Friday, March 23, weather permitting. Join us on Friday night from 5.30pm to 7pm and socialise with your neighbours. There will be a sausage sizzle, bouncy castle, live music and games, all free. BOP Rugby League Carnival Bay of Plenty Rugby League will be holding a community carnival this Saturday, March 24 at Puketawher­o Park in Rotorua to promote Rugby League.

The carnival starts at 9am with activities for 5- to 12-yearolds and parents. There will be a free breakfast, a free fundamenta­l skills coaching course, skills and drills, family activities and games. You will also be able to meet Ruben Wiki, have your photo taken with the Rugby League World Cup, and have the chance to win tickets to the ANZAC test match.

Hash House Harriers Hash House Harriers in Tokoroa meet tonight at 6pm at the Trees Tavern on Mannering St and next week, March 28, at Ra’s Bar on Rosebery St. Putaruru Tennis Club Champs Putaruru Junior Tennis club championsh­ips will be held this Saturday, March 24, at the Glenshea Park tennis courts. Secondary School Bowls Good luck to bowls teams from Forest View and Tokoroa high schools and Putaruru College, who will be in Hamilton next week for the Waikato Secondary School Bowls competitio­n. Great to see students participat­ing in all sports.
