Neighbourliness

-

The Neighbourhood parties have been a tremendous initiative. The drive and enthusiasm from council staff, Amanda Hema and her team and Richard Gaby and Heather Gaby (of Sport Waikato) has ensured the parties are a success.

The aim of the initiative is to get neighbours to know one another in a fun social setting; encourage feedback from the community about what they want; make our community safer by fostering good neighbourly relations; profile the council and the services we offer; discover people’s strengths; and encourage links within our communities. All of the parties have meant that anywhere from 50 to 100 families have engaged with each other and the council.
