Congratulations to Shadrock

-

What a great game played by Elias Shadrock in the Waikato/BOP Magic v Vixens game last Sunday.

Elias has certainly put her hand up for a place in a Silver Ferns squad, especially in Joline Henry’s wing defence position. Congratulations to Elias for her tenacity and ability to play her numerous skills at an international level.

All netballers started their games in the Tokoroa New World Championships last Saturday. In the Premier Division, Nemesis gained a large win against Purple Haze Reunited 65-33. Quarter-time scores were 13-10, 29-18, 48-29, 65-33. FVHS A put up a good battle against United Force. United Force won the game 54-33. Quarter time scores were 12- 8, 22- 15, 41-25 and 54-33. The closest game in the Premier Division was THS A against Eagles. Quarter-time scores were 13- 6, 25- 14, 34- 29, 45-38. The two secondary school teams deserve their places in the Premier Division and they will be improving in each game they play.

The Primary teams played their last sponsorship games. The two unbeaten teams in section 1 were North Kiwis and David Henry Smurfs. Players from both these teams are in the Tokoroa Netball Centre year 6 representative team. The North Kiwis team defeated David Henry Smurfs 13-5 and ended the primary competition as the winning team. This team is coached by Sarah Franklin and Lisa Jones. Team members are Graciana Glassie, Grace Waldon, Jordan Murray, Zara Porteous, Madison Perawiti, Precious Letoga, Renee Hurliman, Olivia Franklin, Shauna Glassie-Ryan, Naomi-Leigh Tare- Jones. The shooters were successful with 13 goals in the 20 minutes of play. Many of these players started learning their netball skills for two or three years at Fun Ferns.

It has been a very successful venture for Tokoroa Netball Centre to have a year 6 representative team.
