Good report for school
Forest View High School has received a glowing report from the Education Review Office.
The report covers four areas when evaluating the school.
The areas include important features that impact on student learning, how well the students are learning, the curriculum and sustainable performance.
The report states ‘‘ The proportion of students gaining compulsory Level 1 literacy and numeracy credits is well above the national averages.‘‘
The report also highlighted the school’s inclusive attitude.
‘‘The school is inclusive of diverse cultures and promotes respectful relationships among staff and students, based on manaakitanga, aroha and whanaungatanga ... School leaders and staff continue to support cultural identity of, and promote many forms of success for, Maori and Pacific students.
Principal Ian Fergusson is pleased by with the report.
“Forest View is thrilled to receive a very positive report from ERO. The review team commented on how well our school was able to engage and progress students in learning, and how this laid the base for high levels of academic achievement.
‘‘The report highlights the steps taken to develop a curriculum that is relevant and inclusive, and supports students of all ethnicities to be able to meet the challenges of the future.’’
