In tune for semi final

-

Two Tokoroa woman have proven their singing prowess on Maori Television’s Homai te Pakipaki and need your support.

Abbie Leigh and Brittany Teokotai won their respective sections on the popular singing show and are gearing up for the semifinals.

Both singers won because they received the most votes through texting on the night.

Abbie and Brittany are asking residents to show their support through text.

‘‘This is our first time on the show,‘‘ Abbie said. ‘‘I think it would be fantastic to get as much Tokoroa people through to the finals,’’ she said.

The grand final prize is worth $10,000, and both women have ideas on what they would spend the money on.

‘‘I would spend it on my up coming wedding,’’ Brittany said, ‘‘My partner and I got engaged recently and it would be nice to not have to worry about the financial strain of weddings.’’

Abbie would like to finish off her demo recording.

‘‘It is so expensive to do a demo.

Singing is my second biggest passion behind my son. I would love to finish off my demo and make it in the music industry.’’

Abbie will appear in the first semi final heat on Friday with Brittany and fellow Tokoroa finalist Isaac Marsh hitting the stage in the same semi final heat on October 5.

To vote, watch Homai te Pakipaki from this Friday Maori Television starting at 8.30pm.
