More than 100 people attended the blessing of trophies and the unveiling of a plaque on the 15th tee before the Jet Pihama Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday.

This was a great display of respect for a popular and hardworking club member who passed away a year ago. Just under 100 players participated in the day’s event.

The results are: Ladies Gross, Chantelle Cassidy, on 78. Net winner was Shirley Buckley, 65 on count back, while Lorraine Gilbert won the stableford with 43 points. Gavin Cortesi, won the Division One men’s gross with 72, Brown Cortesi, the net with 64, and Neil Philpott collected the stableford prize with 43 points.

The men’s Division Two gross was taken out by Teina Tekopua scoring an 80. Tangi Tarai won the net with 64, 43 points was again good enough to win the stableford in this division too. Unfortunately, though, the winner’s name was not supplied.

The Jet Pihama Memorial Trophy for the overall best net of the day, (men and women), was won by Teina Tekopua with 62.

The drawn winner of the Jet Pihama trophy for golfer without an official handicap was Leanne Ware.

2 1 1⁄ win over Raglan at Raglan.

2 The Handicap Pennants Team is in 5th place after round one at Taumaranui.
