Season preparation takes centre court

Organisation for the opening day of the Tokoroa Netball Centre on Saturday, April 6 is well under way.

Entries for this tournament for Seniors, Secondary and Intermediate teams close tomorrow.

This will allow the draw to be constructed and placed on the Netball Centre website in plenty of time for all teams to organise their games for the first day of the 2013 season.

All documentation for the Tokoroa Netball Centre is on the website and also at Sport Waikato office in Swanson Street. This includes entries for all opening days, registration forms, including the Fun Ferns.

Primary Competition will start on April 13. Fun Ferns start on Friday, April 12 at the Sports and Event Centre.

Tokoroa Netball Centre held a very successful Annual General Meeting recently with plenty of interest in the 2013 season. Forty members contributed to decision making.

Maria Te Kanawa will continue as President and Joyce Daniels as Vice President. The Management Group consist of Te Paea Riki-Pahewa, Leleina Tolavae, Nancy-Jo Tahere, Ruth Natua, Nikki Cooper, Josef Brown, Taruna Petera, Christina Ogle, Dawn Ashworth, Denise Lee, Caroline Morunga, Colleen Barrett and Heather Williamson. All management members have designated portfolios to be responsible for during the season.

Taupo, Tokoroa, Putaruru and Matamata secondary school teams will take part in a competition between secondary schools later in May at the South Waikato Sports and Event Centre.
