Retirement show home

-

Over 100 people have already had their own close-up view of ‘‘The Views on Vogel’’ retirement village show home at Cambridge Resthaven.

Cambridge Resthaven chief executive David Hall said the first of the villas in stage one will be ready to move into this month. Ten of the 15 villas in stage one are under contract or have contract pending, so they are proving to be very popular.

‘‘From the minute that people walk into the show home, they comment on the feeling of spaciousness that the high ceilings give. Visitors also love the fact that there is an entrance foyer, something which is not often seen in retirement villages, and the kitchen, of course, gets lots of ooh’s and aah’s.’’

Hall said visitors to the show home are as keenly interested in the benefits of living in the village as they are about the show home itself. People want to know about the care that is available through Cambridge Resthaven and the social side of being in the village. So he gets them to talk to village co-ordinator, Gaylene Callaghan – she organises the social support and social events, such as the weekly morning teas, regular activities, outings and mobility scooter treks.

The show home is open to view from 1-3pm every Sunday in September. Alternatively, those interested can contact village manager Sandra Bennett, to make an appointment – contact details are 07 827 6097, or email sandrabennett@resthaven.org.nz
