NOSTALGIA RACING

Explained by Deano Anderson, President of the Bay Rodders Club. Nostalgia racing has been running in new Zealand for about 25 years now. The sport involves American-based cars or race cars and is about going back in time and racing like they did 30 years ago. All cars that entered are pre-1972. In the last 10 years, the nostalgia racing movement has grown and continues to grow. Last year the national pro-nostalgia meet brought in about 180 cars. The classes include: Pre-1949 hot rod Pre-1972 American Gaffa Challenge Flathead Challenge Competitio­n racing for cars not allowed on the road.
