NOS­TAL­GIA RAC­ING

Ex­plained by Deano An­der­son, Pres­i­dent of the Bay Rod­ders Club. Nos­tal­gia rac­ing has been run­ning in new Zealand for about 25 years now. The sport in­volves Amer­i­can-based cars or race cars and is about go­ing back in time and rac­ing like they did 30 years ago. All cars that en­tered are pre-1972. In the last 10 years, the nos­tal­gia rac­ing move­ment has grown and con­tin­ues to grow. Last year the na­tional pro-nos­tal­gia meet brought in about 180 cars. The classes in­clude: Pre-1949 hot rod Pre-1972 Amer­i­can Gaffa Chal­lenge Flat­head Chal­lenge Com­pe­ti­tion rac­ing for cars not al­lowed on the road.
