Academic achievers return home victorious

- FRANCES FERGUSON

Students from Forest View High School put their academic wits and skills to the test and returned home victorious from a inter-school challenge.

The annual Academic Exchange took place at Rotorua Lakes High School recently with both teams battling it out.

A team of 25 students from year 9 to 13 travelled to Rotorua to tackle the country’s biggest issues.

The hot topic was based on food security with students finding solutions on how to make healthy food affordable for New Zealanders.

Spit into three groups, Forest View students had two hours to research and organise a presentation.

The teams creativity was applauded when they presented their findings as a televised news story.

Two news anchors and reporters were used to question the research team.

Anisha Te Hiko said everyone did what they had to do effectively even though they were nervous.

‘‘It took a lot of stress off having to trust each other.

‘‘We learnt how to implement what we learnt in class.’’
