BURGLARIES

There was a burglary at a dairy in Bridge St overnight on Thursday or during the early hours of Friday morning where a car has been driven into the shop window and a small amount of money taken.

Investigations are still ongoing so if anyone has information about this please get in touch with the police at the station on 885 0100 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

For the week there were five burglaries overall which included the Bridge St incident.

The main area of concern for police at the moment is the Aotea Tainui St area.

The majority of burglaries are carried out by opportunists with people taking things that are easily seen from the street.

This is a timely reminder to lock up your belongings, close garage doors, windows and doors and make sure your house is secured.
